THE AREA

Hoeksfontein Safaris' base camp is situated in the Semi-Karoo, adjacent to the coastal strip of the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The ranch is 250Km North of Port Elizabeth and is 7000 acres in size. The total area of hunting concessions is 50 000 acres. The closest town to the ranch is Pearston, with Graaff Reinett 100km to the northwest, where there is a shopping mall for the ladies if they wish to shop while in SA. 110km to the northeast, by road, lies Cradock with the Mountain Zebra Park.

Finding us is easy.
If you are coming to us on the N10 from Cradock or Port Elizabeth, turn in at Cookhouse and take the R63 road to Somerset East.
Drive through Somerset East and on to Pearston.
Drive into Pearston - turn right at the last street and take the Coetzeesberg gravel road,
S 32°34. 222' E 25° 07. 753' for 23km and turn right at the Bennie van Niekerk, Bontebok Lodge sign. S 32°23. 299' E 25° 6. 808'

OR

If you approach from the Graaff Reinett or George side on the N9,  take the Pearston turn off on to the R63 and drive into Pearston.
Turn left at the first street and take the "Coetzeesberg" gravel road

The landscape consists of magnificent rock outcrops, mountains, hills and open plains. You can expect mountainous hunting terrain as well as thick valley bushveld. It is important to bring really good footwear.

HUNTING AREAS
  Hoeksfontein Safaris has access to some fine hunting areas all over South Africa.
Due to the variety of species offered for hunting, concession areas range from semi-desert to dense forest.
Hunting is conducted in those areas where the best trophies can be obtained.

In hunting concessions all over South Africa, from the Western Cape to Zululand in Kwazulu Natal, as well as the Kalahari in the north. For the real wild Africa experience, we have added concessions in Zimbabwe.
