You generally don’t need any special vaccinations or shots for South Africa, as the Eastern Cape, where Hoeksfontein is located, is both Malaria-free and Bilharzia-free. However, if you’ve visited a yellow fever prevalent country within 6 months before your trip to South Africa, you may need a yellow fever inoculation. It’s the only exception to the rule.

To book a hunting safari, you’ll need to make a deposit via bank transfer (EFT) from your bank account to our South African business account. The remaining amount is paid in cash when you’re in South Africa, before leaving the hunting area at the end of your trip.

Hunting shots generally fall within the 100 to 300-yard range, with the average being just over 150 yards.

If you finish your hunting package early, you can continue hunting from our Hunting Price List and may shoot 90% of our animals without pre-approved permits. We can also arrange additional activities such as game drives, trips to Addo Elephant National Park, and sightseeing tours.

While exceedingly rare, there may be situations where a hunting client doesn’t have the opportunity to shoot all the animals included in their hunting package. However, our year-round game scouting maximizes the chances of harvesting all animals on your list.

If you wound an animal, you are responsible for the cost of that animal. Our Professional Hunters are skilled at assessing whether an animal was wounded, and they will make every effort to recover it. Shot placement is crucial, and following your Professional Hunter’s guidance is important for a swift, ethical kill.

Most mobile phones should work in the area. However, please contact your service provider before traveling to ensure international service. Wi-Fi is available at the lodge, but it may be intermittent, as this is Africa.
